We started as two working parents—me in mental healthcare and Francis in engineering.

After testing recipes in our kitchen with Francis and our five kids as the first taste-testers, I began sharing the blends with friends and our church community. The response was immediate. People kept asking for more flavors and where they could buy it. That’s when we realized this could be more than just something we made for ourselves.

In June 2021, I left my job to run the business full time under the name Anew Blend. After a few selling events, it became clear the name didn’t reflect who we were or the culture behind our teas. So in October 2021, we rebranded to Teajani—a name that honors our Kenyan-American roots.

Today, we continue to grow as a family-run business, selling at farmers markets, online, and in local specialty shops.
